The Science and Technology
Center for Sustainability of semi-Arid Hydrology and Riparian Areas
(SAHRA) seeks exceptional applicants for several prestigious post-doctoral
appointments. Join a team dedicated to cutting-edge cross-disciplinary research
on hydrology and water resources management. SAHRAs research initiatives
coordinate and integrate a broad range of disciplines (including the natural
and social sciences) while stressing education and technology transfer.
Located at the University of Arizonas top-ranked Department of
Hydrology and Water Resources, SAHRA <www.sahra.arizona.edu> emphasizes
the application of innovative research methods to actual stakeholder-driven
problems. A major goal is to develop effective mechanisms for rapidly moving
scientific knowledge into widespread usage by the public and private agencies
responsible for managing our water resources. The thrust areas for
cross-disciplinary research include:
- Spatial and Temporal
Properties of Hydrologic Variables
- Processes Controlling
Water and Chemical Balances in Catchments
- Functioning of Riparian
Systems
- Integrated Modeling of
Catchment-Scale Processes
- Sustainable Water
Resources Management
- Education and Outreach
(K-12 through Univ., Professional and Public)
- Technology Transfer
(Public and Private sectors, International)
