Summary/Goals:
The scenario development team is charged with identifying a set of scenarios for SAHRA researchers that are consistent across SAHRA projects and related studies by our scientific peers.

The development effort will include reviews of previous scenario studies and standard practices for scenario assessment used by decision makers in the Southwest, integration of local, regional, and global scenarios for different SAHRA projects, developing "fact sheets" for facilitating common understanding and communication between researchers within SAHRA and between SAHRA and stakeholders.
Activities and outcomes during past year:
In August 2007, we hosted a workshop for Arizona water managers on the scenario development process. This workshop was held at the Arizona Hydrological society meetings and was attended by about 20 stakeholders.

Scenario-themed workshops were convened at AGU and UCOWR, and papers and/or posters were prepared for the UCOWR, AWRA, AHS and AGU meetings.

We have applied all eight SAHRA scenarios to the San Pedro DSS and have been analyzing the results. We have made progress on integrating climate scenarios into tRIBS and have made some headway with the water leasing group.

Plans for the upcoming year:
During 2008, we will finalize the eight SAHRA scenarios and will either construct climate and socioeconomic data or parameterize the models to reflect the scenarios settings for the San Pedro DSS, tRIBS model of the Ojo Caliente watershed, and Stage 6 of the Water Leasing model. Funding for staff permitting, we will document the SAHRA scenario experience and guidelines for use of SAHRA scenarios and the scenario process for water resource managers.

We will complete two journal articles on the SAHRA scenario process.

To the extent we have cooperation from SAHRA investigators (and have staff funding), we still envision assisting in the development of the fact sheets for relevant SAHRA models, as mentioned in last year's plans.

We will continue to host scenario sessions at regional and national meetings as appropriate.
