Untitled Document Economic Valuation of Riparian Flyways: Ecosystem Services
Macro Theme Area: Integrated Modeling [Project ID: M21]
PI: David Brookshire
CO-PI(s): Steven Stewart, Juliet Stromberg
Basin focus: Regional SW, Rio Grande
Specific area in
basin /
field sites:
San Pedro and Middle Rio Grande
Summary/Goals:
Addresses the non-marked value of water and ecosystem services in an integrated framework. The goal is to link understanding of the science of the relationship between water availability, habitat health, and the valuation of both birds (diversity of population size) and water as resources.
Activities and outcomes during past year:
The San Pedro "choice" and "cvm" surveys are almost complete with final focs group testing early 2008. The DSS linkages generating the scenarios are almost complete. The Rio Grande effort is in the early stages of designating reaches and the draft of a surve is underway.

Plans for the upcoming year:
The various surveys will go "live" over the next few months on the Internet. Work on the Rio Grande survey continues and should go "live" this summer.
