Summary/Goals: Work with new Biosphere 2 center and program to provide an array of knowledge transfer, outreach, and education services and products.
Activities and outcomes during past year:
Developed the B2 Science web site (www.b2science.org) and its graphical identity. Assisted in developing and renovating displays. Provided material for gift shop. Agreed to co-house UA headquarters in Marshall Bldg. Participated in strategic planning sessions. Co-hosted meeting of Arizona water and energy conservation professionals. Wrote multiple grants to: convert casita to sustainability showcase (funded); install a Science on a Sphere display (pending); install display and touch-screen kiosk on rainwater harvesting.
Plans for the upcoming year:
Will use the site for SAHRA's 2008 annual meeting. Will conduct portions of a summer science camp on Arizona Rivers at the B2 facility. Will convert a casita to a sustainability showcase. Will continue to develop web site. Working with Jim Riley's water harvesting class, will evaluate rainwater harvesting potential at site. Will convert SWH's annual riparian issue to an ecohydrology issue.
