Summary/Goals:
The goal of this project is to engage UA and SAHRA researchers in a national hydrologic synthesis center activity.
Activities and outcomes during past year:
On June 1, 2006, a Hydrologic Synthesis Center proposal was submitted to NSF. The proposal was spearheaded by the University of Illinois (UI, PI: Murugesu Sivapalan), and came about as a collaboration between UI, UA (HWR/SAHRA), NCAR, NCED, University of Columbia, and NCEAS. A spin-off of this activity is the production of a white paper co-authored by many HWR faculty members and currently under review as an opinion paper to Water Resources Research.

Plans for the upcoming year:
Depending on the outcome of the proposal evaluation at NSF, the coming 6 months (January to June 2007) will be spend either establishing the newly funded HSC or re-structuring our thoughts and ideas into a new NSF proposal for hydrologic synthesis.
