Activities and outcomes during past year:
Interactive Web site for assisting homeowners implement rainwater harvesting systems was developed by Deirdre Brosnihan, Gary Woodard, Mike Buffington, Ramon Vazquez and Kyle Carpenter. Another small web tool for sizing pipes and gutters was developed by Ramon Vazquez and Bart Nijssen. A grant proposal to Bureau of Reclamation to integrate and add to these components is pending.
Plans for the upcoming year:
If grant is awarded, rainwater harvesting information and calculators will be refined. Some content likely will be used in a water harvesting section of the G-WADI Web site. In addition, the web content will be displayed on touch-screen kiosks at The Nature Conservancy Tucson office and at
Biosphere 2.
