Summary/Goals:
Decision Support models, including Dynamic Simulation Models, incorporate multi-disciplinary science results in a format that allows policy makers and water resource professionals to explore scenarios and perform "what if" analysis on particular policy options. As these models are created, there will be a need to make them easy to use and widely accessible, e.g., Web-based. |
Activities and outcomes during past year:
A model of conservation alternatives for a typical southwestern watershed with associated educational background material.
Plans for the upcoming year:
We will work with Sandia and the Lansey-led WSP project to put DSMs on the Web and develop outreach and educational uses. We are currrently preparing to present it for the third time to an under-graduate class (hwr203) for the third time. It is now embedded in the Master Watershed Steward program. The model was applied at the Univ. of Hermosilla in a water resources management program in Fall 2006. |
