Tucson Arundo Removal |
Mission:
to coordinate and facilitate the removal of Arrundo donax in the Tucson area.
Goals:
- Supervise the orderly removal and control of the invasive grass: Arundo donax
- Educate the public about this threat to Arizona's riparian systems
- Work with the US Forest Service to protect fragile or threatened species
- Encourage public participation
Advantages of volunteering:
- Help preserve healthy riparian ecosystems in southern Arizona
- Satisfy community service requirements
- Spend time outdoors, along a stream - meet new people
- Great exercise
How to get involved:
Tucson Arundo, is looking for students, citizen volunteers, and civic and professional organizations (scouts, 4-H, Audubon, Rotary, etc.) who are interested in volunteering to help us remove this invasive plant
Please review the Calendar below for available dates and contact us to reserve a date for your group. We recommend multiple teams of 4-6, depending upon what area you are working in.
