Sabino Canyon Display

Individuals, families, and school groups visiting Sabino Canyon in Tucson, AZ are encouraged to use the interactive display in the Visitor's Center. This display provides current air temperature and flow rate conditions and uses animated graphics to explain the hydrology of the canyon. The interactive display is also available on-line.

Teachers planning field trips to Sabino Canyon can have their students explore the display prior to the trip perhaps graphing flow rate trends or developing questions to be answered during the trip.

Following a field trip, teachers are encouraged to have their students use the on-line version of the display to answer questions generated during the trip and clarify understandings of the canyon's hydrology. Teachers who are unable to take their students to visit the canyon can use the on-line display to help teach their students about the hydrology of the Tucson area. This display provides definitions of key terms and subtitles in English, Spanish, French, and German.
