Activities and outcomes during past year:
The general goal of this project is to share mature SAHRA science and education products and expertise with on-going and developing professional development opportunities for tribal environmental professionals. This effort is in-line with SAHRA's goal of facilitating technology transfer and professional development that leads to more sustainable water management practices.

The staff conducted three water training events for tribal environmental professionals, reaching 55 tribal professionals. One event focused on the interface between air and water, looking at the impacts of air pollution on watersheds. The second event focused on climate change and the impacts of climate change to the availability of water. The third event focused on helping the tribal environmental professionals with education and outreach to community members and students.

Plans for the upcoming year:
The water education program will continue with a Water Resources Short Internship Program. This program will fund internships for high school and college students. The staff will partner with the Grand Canyon Wildlands Council to work on springs inventories. This effort will involve workshops and field experiences for tribal environmental professionals, as well as internship opportunities for college students. The workshops and field work will be using Larry Steven's Springs Ecosystem Assessment and Prioritization (SEAP) protocols.
