Summary/Goals:
SAHRA, Project WET, and Tucson Water work with the Univeristy of Arizona's Collaborative to Advance Teaching Technology and Science (CATTS) Fellows Program (NSF GK-12 grant) to increase the direct involvement of undergraduate and graduate science students in high school science classrooms to facilitate implementation of water science. This leveraged activity allows SAHRA, Project WET, and Tucson Water to support K-12 teachers in their classrooms on a weekly basis. The goals of this project are to directly reach K-12 teachers (primarily high school teachers) and their students in schools to support the implementation of water education materials.
Activities and outcomes during past year:
In 2005, the CATTS fellows worked with about 30 teachers helping to implement water education in their classrooms. In 2006, CATTS fellows worked with about 30 teachers, demonstrating groundwater flow models and helping support a 4th grade program that TW and AZ Project WET have with TUSD.

Plans for the upcoming year:
Given the direct impact of CATTS fellows on K-12 schools and the tremendous success of this leveraged activity since 2002, our plans are to continue this project as it currently exists.
